John Whatman and Robert Knowlden found guilty on an indictment for a burglary in the dwelling house of William Noale in the parish of Bodiam on 22nd January 1740: stealing therefrom 2 silver tablespoons (valued at 24/-), 1 Portuguese gold coin (value £3.12/-), 2 Portuguese gold cons (each with a value of 36/-) and 10 gold guineas.

Found guilty at the lent assizes and executed ??.  No reprieves traced.
